2019New e-Ananse Library unveiled
On International World reading day, October 2nd 2019, the new and 3rd branch of e-Ananse Library was was launched by Westblue consulting in collaboration with the Accra Metropolitan Assembly in a combined reading festival with Ghana Reads Initiative dabbed “Ghana Reads”.
e-Ananse AMA complex branch was officially inaugurated by the Metropolitan Chief Executive, Honorable Mohammed Adjei Sowah together with the former second lady, Mrs Matilda Amissah Arthur, former Chair of the National Media Commission of Ghana, Nana Kwasi Gyan- Apenteng among other honourable dignitaries.
They were taken on a brief tour by the AMA Library manager Miss. Roxanne Bougsin Koffi as she showed and explained to them the features of the library and the membership registration process. They were indeed thrilled to find that 90% of the book collections are of African writers and writers of African descent. They commended West Blue Consulting for taking an initiative to revive the Ghanaian reading culture through the e-Ananse Library project.
The Director of e- Ananse, Cephas Larbi expressed appreciation to the Mayor and the AMA for giving out the space for the E Ananse Library and encourage students and everyone to read and make use of the library.
The mayor in response, expressed how important it is to promote local content that is relatable, adding that it was for this reason that the city authority was providing the right environment and resources to promote reading in the city.
There were book reading sessions with Ghanaian politician and daughter of The great Dr.Kwame Nkrumah-Dr. Samia Nkrumah, Madame Dzifa Gomashie-Former deputy minister of Tourism, Ghanaian actor Kweku Elliot just to mention a few.
The e-Ananse Library AMA complex branch is officially open to the public! Subscription for adults is GHS20.00 and GHS10.00 for children for the whole year!
