SUMMARY:Ananse Bookclub - Wings for Legs
DESCRIPTION:Selected book: Wings for Legs by Naomi Adjei \nFrom Shiabu\, a suburb of Accra\, grew Esi who enjoyed all the fun that all the children in the neighbourhood had. Almost all the children living in the neighbourhood knew each other and always looked out for themselves. They engaged in various sporting activities. \nHowever\, the unexpected happened one day when Esi was involved in an accident. The accident left Esi paralysed from her waist down. She now had to learn to move and compete in a wheelchair. It was difficult at first but with determination\, she was able to run again. This time\, without legs but with wings. \nClick here to register. \nNB: This event is strictly for children \n  \n

SUMMARY:Ananse Bookclub - Once Upon a Time in Ghana
DESCRIPTION:Selected book: Once Upon a Time in Ghana Anna Cottrell and Agbotadua Togbi Kumassah \nThese original and traditional oral stories are really by the people and for the people. If a civilisation expresses itself through its various art forms\, then stories are the voice of those who have handed down their understanding of life from age to age. \nTraditional stories were a wonderful way of binding communities together and it is a nation’s loss if it no longer values the wisdom of the past. We should remember the Sankofa who bids us look to the past to guide us into our future. \nClick here to register. \nNB: This event is strictly for children \n  \n
